About this place
Malbork is not a castle you take in from a single spot. The fortified complex spread along the Nogat consists of the High Castle, the Middle Castle and the Outer Bailey, and walking the whole route realistically takes more than three hours.
What impresses most is the contrast of scale: from the far bank of the river the mass looks like a city, while inside it turns out to be a sequence of intimate cloisters and refectories. Start from the Nogat side to see the full silhouette before you step inside.
The ticket includes an audio guide that leads you along a set route. In season, entries run every half hour and can sell out days in advance.
