About this place
The tourist route begins with 380 steps down and leads through chambers where everything — floors, sculptures, chandeliers — is carved from salt. The Chapel of Saint Kinga is 54 metres long and still hosts mass.
Underground it is a constant 17 degrees whatever the season, so a jacket comes in handy even in August. The route runs about 3 kilometres and ends with a lift.
Visits are guided only, with groups entering every fifteen minutes or so.
