About this place
The Biebrza valley is over 59 thousand hectares of wetlands that were never drained. In spring, when the river floods, some trails vanish underwater and the meadows turn into backwaters stretching to the horizon.
The best-known spot is the Tsar’s Road with its viewing towers and boardwalks over the bog. This is where you watch displaying ruffs and cranes — best at dawn.
Wellingtons are no exaggeration here, just basic equipment. Outside the breeding season some areas are off limits.
