What a weekend in the Bieszczady really costs

Accommodation, fuel, entry fees and food — calculated for two people, with no rounding up.

Assumptions

We count a weekend from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, for two people driving their own car from Kraków. Prices come from the summer season — outside it, accommodation can be a third cheaper.

Getting there

Kraków to Ustrzyki Górne is about 290 kilometres each way. At an average 7 litres per 100 km that is just under 40 litres both ways, roughly 260 zloty in fuel.

Entry to the national park is charged separately — 15 zloty per person per day. Car parks at the trailheads cost 10 to 20 zloty.

Accommodation

A double room in a private guesthouse runs 180–250 zloty per night. The mountain hostel on the meadows is cheaper but needs booking well in advance.

Food

Dinner in a shepherd’s hut costs 35–50 zloty. With two dinners per person and shop-bought breakfasts, that is about 300 zloty for two for the whole weekend.

The total

A realistic budget for two people is 1,100–1,400 zloty. Accommodation is the biggest item, and food is the easiest place to save by packing provisions for the trail.
